Young Women of Destiny (YWOD) is a Christ-centered mentoring and debutante program for high school age young women, offering Leadership Development, Personal Development, College and Career Counseling, Spiritual Development, Cultural Appreciation, and Relational Building.
In preparation for college, career, and adult life our debutantes are able to work with professional mentors/life coaches, make new friends, develop a life long sisterhood, and gain an understanding of their God-given purpose, destiny, gifts, and talents. During the nine month program debs visit college and university campuses in Texas, participate in community service projects, quarterly issues awareness projects, and purity weekend retreats. Senior debs are able to apply for the YWOD and other college scholarships.
Our Mission - is to train, to counsel and to successfully mentor high school young women in Biblical & Leadership Principles, in preparation for college, career & some aspects of adult life.
Our Vision - is to formally present balanced, well rounded young women into society, who are analytical in their thinking, articulate speakers, who know their identity, understand their purpose and know what is necessary to reach their goals.
Our Concern - The break down of the traditional family has resulted in fewer positive role models and a lack of effective mentoring, producing young adults who are inadequately prepared to transition from adolescence to adulthood. Young Women of Destiny (YWOD) is concerned about the condition of our young people.
Our Goal - In an effort to give back to our communities YWOD has designed a program that will attempt to correct this problem, through personal mentoring and direct involvement in the lives of young men and young women, celebrating their commitment to achieve excellence in life and change the destiny of our communities one life at a time.
Our Expectations - during this exciting time of intensive learning, relationship building and great accomplishment. As a result of commitment & dedication to the program we believe each young person will be:
